Victoria (Pages 55, 56, 57) Writes....

Alice in Wonderland

Have you ever thought a fourth grade class could make a website on the Internet about "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" with, of course, a little help? Well, guess what! My class, my teacher Ms.Edinger, some other people, and I put a website together and made it happen!

Hi, my name is Victoria and I would like to tell you about this process and how it all started.

It all started out this way. My class read the book by Lewis Carroll/Charles Dodgson,"Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," Since it was Lewis Carroll's/ Charles Dodgson's death day 100 years ago this January, we decided to remember him by putting this project on the Internet.

First, we drew pictures for the chapter we were assigned, but we had to share the chapter with another classmate and I got the even pages. Next, Ms. Feldman scanned them into the computer. We also had to write this essay. Also we wrote six definitions of difficult words for younger readers. You can look at them if you haven't already. Ms. Gumport helped us position our illustrations and color this essay.

Now I'm going to talk about my chapter which is "The Lobster Quadrille". I chose this chapter because when we read the chapter I imagined what I was going to draw but it was too hard to draw so I changed it a little. We looked at the famous illustrators first like John Tenniel, Anthony Browne and people like that. When we read the book and talked about the pictures we, as you know, illustrated the pictures.

I had a great time doing this and I hope you have as much fun looking through the looking glass with my class !!
