| Hello my name is Becky. I go to the Dalton
School. In our class we studied Lewis Carroll and his great story Alice's
Adventures in Wonderland. After we had finished the book and looked
at a lot of different illustrators who had illustrated the book and looked
at their styles, all of us illustrated a chapter of the story. I illustrated
the second half of "A Mad Tea Party." I chose this chapter because
it was especially exciting with all of the commotion happening. At the
table there was The Hatter, The Dormouse, The March Hare, and of course.
Alice.
I did not want my Alice to look or act prissy or very polite. I wanted her to be, in a way, modern and sporty, but still have some of the Alice that Lewis Carroll had told in his story when he told it to the real Alice Liddle. I wanted my illustrations to be very bright and colorful. I used colored pencils to draw because you are able to draw small details easier than markers or paints. I liked this project because it was fun and like none I had never done before. |
