Hi, I'm Sarah.  I'm 9 years old.  I go to the Dalton School.  I'm in fourth grade.  My teacher is Ms. Edinger.  Our class read Alice in Wonderland.  We would pick an Alice book and then Ms. Edinger would read us a chapter and after Ms. Edinger finished the chapter everyone would show the pictures in the Alice book they had.  My favorite illustrators are Anthony Browne, and Angel Dominquez.  I like Anthony Browne because I like his play on words, detail and dark colors.  I like Angel Dominquez because he has a lot of detail, and big colors.

We did different things to help learn about Alice in Wonderland.  We watched videos such as Dream Child, and the Disney Alice in Wonderland.  We took a trip to NYU to see original Alice's.  Also we had a tea party like Alice had in the book.  At the tea party we watched the Disney Alice.  We read books on the real Alice and Lewis Carroll to learn about them.

At the end of the unit we did a final project which was to make illustrations for an Alice on the Web.  I did the chapter Advice From A Caterpillar.  I chose that chapter because I like the caterpillar as a character and the chapter itself.  To color in the illustrations I used pen, pencil, and colored pencils.  The way I decided what things I was going to take from a page and draw was, I did what I thought would be interesting, and fun to draw.

I really liked reading Alice and doing all the projects, so basically I liked the whole Alice unit.  It was lots of fun!
