A Joint Project

Ms. Edinger's Fourth Grade Class in New York City, New York
and
Mrs. Desler's Fifth Grade Class in Sacramento, California
| Our two classes both explored US immigration during the fall of 1999. However, many of our experiences were different due to where we live, our family histories, and more. To help both classes learn more overall we collaborated in several ways. |

The members of each class did a research and writing project around their names. This provided a way for them to think about primary and secondary sources as well as introduce themselves to the other class. |
