Heroes

To me, the terrorist attack was the most terrible thing that has happened in my life. It has, and will, change our entire life and the lives that we will have in the future. There have been many heroes in this tragic time and it’s good for all of us to have something to hold onto. I do, but some people don’t, so I think all the assemblies we are having are really helping a lot of people.

It was very upsetting because it was the first day of school when the World Trade Center went down. That first week was very hectic, with all the bomb scares. I hope that will be the only first week of school that I will have with that much pandemonium. I am amazed at how many heroes there were in this tragedy and how many people there are to support all of New York’s heroes. Knowing that there are all those people out there, trying their best to protect the USA is a great feeling. When everyone heard about the second tower and when we all realized that it was a terrorist attack the entire world froze, it was amazing what happened. The entire world recoiled. The night of September eleventh my family went walking around the reservoir, I could see the smoke from downtown. It was like that for one whole week. It still feels like a whole bad dream.

I think the hero in "Charlotte’s Web" is Charlotte because of her thoughtfulness in trying to save Wilbur with her obsessive web weaving to make "some pig," and then "terrific," and then "radiant," and lastly, "humble." When I read "Charlottes Web", it reminded me of the heroes in the World Trade Center.

I think what makes a hero is a generous personality and the feeling, that they would give their life to save someone else’s. As I said before, I am glad that there are so many heroes to help and so many supporters of those heroes.

I’m glad I am an American.
