Charlotte's Web
I
think that the World Trade Center attack has affected this city in many ways.
I am upset that our school keeps getting bomb threats. This has affected the
beginning of this school year a lot. We’re living in a whole different
city now. New York used to be a very cold city and now people are very friendly.
The people on the street and in the subway even talk to each other. This city
has now become really safe after what has happened.
I
think the hero in Charlotte’s Web is Wilbur because Wilbur compliments
everyone in the barn. When all the sheep, cows, and geese have there babies
Wilbur is a kind friend and congratulates them. Wilbur also helps Charlotte
when she’s dying. After Charlotte’s death, Wilbur protects Charlotte’s
eggs by putting them in the manure pile to keep them warm. When Charlotte’s
eggs hatch Wilbur tells three of the spiders to stay in the barn to keep him
company and take on their mother’s tradition.
I think a hero is someone who saves people or things. Someone who is heroic is someone who tries very hard to save people. I think the heroes in this time are the firefighters, rescue workers, and the policemen and women of New York City who have been risking their lives downtown at the World Trade Center site.
