A hero has some special qualities. A hero is a helpful person. For example, let’s say you lost something important to you, a hero might help you find it. He or she would be a hero because that person was helpful. A hero can be a good athlete. For example a hero could be a baseball player who hit 73 homeruns last season or a soccer player who just scored 2 goals in one game. He or she might be a hero because he helped his or her team and made the people who root for that team happy. A hero could risk his or her life for somebody or something else. He or she would be a hero because they had been brave and thought it was very important that the other person survived. For example, if somebody was about to shoot somebody else a hero might risk being shot him or herself to stop the person from shooting the other person. A hero is almost definitely good to everybody.

There are a lot of heroes in Charlotte’s Web. Fern is a hero of Charlotte’s Web because she saved Wilbur’s life by begging her father not to kill him and was very kind to everybody. Charlotte is a hero of Charlotte’s Web because she saved Wilbur’s life by writing words in her web that praised Wilbur so Mr. Zukerman wouldn’t turn Wilbur into bacon and ham, and she tries to make everybody happy. Wilbur is a hero of Charlotte’s Web because he’s good natured and kind to everybody and brought Charlotte’s eggsac back to the barn. Templeton is a hero of Charlotte’s Web because he helped save Charlotte’s egg sac even though he only did it because he was bribed. The heroes of Charlotte’s Web did great things.

There are many heroes in my life. My family members are heroes in my life because they love me. They give me confidence so I can do things well. My friends are heroes in my life because they make me happy by playing with me and doing things with me. My teachers are heroes to me because they’re good-natured and teach me things I need to know to have a good life. Writers and movie directors are heroes to me because the books and movies they make entertain me so my life can be more fun. The heroes of my life are great people.
