16. [There is a big] difference
[between Haiti and the United States]. Its the poorest country of the
Western hemisphere. 90% of the population is illiterate, meaning that they
cant read or write. We are so poor that some parents cannot feed their
children. While in the United States we have an abundance of everything. Electricity
in Haiti they get electricity four hours a day. Usually, electricity
comes at night. So if the kids need to study, they have to get up at two oclock
in the morning thats the only window they have for electricity.
In here, in the United States, we have a lot its a different life.
