Groups work on combining their poem and images into a collage.  Provide them with a model - e.g. a collage of Noboddy Boddahs You.

Discuss different ways to create the collage, colorizing, cutting, pasting etc.

Assessment

Students should present their collages to the class. View student collages.

At the Dalton School each group memorized and recited their poems in different ways. Some did the whole poem together, while others alternated voices.
 

Students were asked to write about what new things they learned about immigration from the unit.

A discussion was also held to determine what students had learned about primary/secondary sources and on-line searches.
