2004 Summer Reading List

Dear 5th-into-6th Graders,

Did you have a good year? Did you enjoy the 5th grade research projects and activities? Did you have time to read a few books you absolutely loved? We hope that the answer to each is a definite YES!

To read for pleasure can be one of the most rewarding activities in life. Now that the school year is coming to an end, we want to give you a parting gift in the form of a reading list so you can continue to enjoy good books and good stories over the summer.

Please read at least three books (two titles from this list and one other selection of your own choice.) Check off the titles on this reading list as you've finished reading them. You will be asked to review one book for English after school starts again in the fall. Of course, we would like if you read a lot more than three books during the summer.

We wish you a wonderful summer and look forward to welcoming you back in the new school year.
