Located on the 10th floor of The Dalton School, the recently renovated High School Crane Library has one of the largest independent school library collections in New York City with approximately 30,000 print volumes; access to more than 8,800 e-books; subscriptions to 2 print newspapers, approximately 70 periodicals, and 40 electronic databases; more than 160 recorded books; over 2,000 videos and DVDs; almost 1,000 CDs; and a microfilm/microfiche collection which includes The New York Times from 1851 to 1984.
